Come, Come Ye Saints for 22 handbells (A3 to D6) and piano accompaniment arranged by Daniel Lee Gibby. Each verse progresses through different moods, including the flowing vista of an expedition, the sorrows and courage of pioneer life, the plodding of a pioneer trek and the joy of accomplishment. There are two key changes, from G Major, to F Major and back to G Major.
Arrangement background
Stephen Valentine, who was my bishop at the time, asked me to arrange a Handbell number for a Pioneer Day Sacrament Meeting, so I naturally selected Come, Come Ye Saints.
This arrangement used 5 ringers, but would be possible with less or more, and one pianist accompaniment.
The mp3 has some mistakes, and the microphone is too close to the piano, but you can idea of what an actual performance would sound like.
